Should I read more often in the New Testament than in the Old Testament?

More NT!

You should read more in the NT because the NT contains in a final and unconcealed form the will of God with regard to mankind. This is expressed in the teachings of Jesus and his Apostles as written down in the NT.

In contrast to that, the scriptures of the OT contain partly obsolete (outdated) teachings and commands. Although the final will of God flashes up in many passages of the OT, too, this happens often in a somewhat obscure or concealed way. The final and clear revelation of the divine plan happened just in that time when Jesus lived on the earth. The NT describes how the long-before existing plan of God for the saving of mankind gained contour and was enforced.

Therefore you should clearly prefer the NT, at least in the beginning of your reading in the Holy Scripture.
